It's time for the holiday season and the chocolate season to begin. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are right around the corner and I'm assuming, if you are like me, your chocolate consumption will go up. Let's boycott companies like Nestle who use child slave labor to harvest their cocoa. Buy fair trade chocolate this season and participate in Global Exchange's reverse trick-or-treating campaign. Let's stand up for kids that can't stand up for themselves by buying fair trade chocolate this holiday season.
Also, my friend, Julia, found this online video about the story of a "sale" item and what it takes for us to buy products at low prices. The video is about 20 minutes long and well worth the time it takes to watch it. Let's think about what we are buying before we buy it.
